Donna Powers, My training in classical homeopathy began later in life as a result of an exhausting search for ways to help my children who had been diagnosed with learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD. In homeopathy I found a healing modality that philosophically resonated with all I understood about body, mind, emotions and spirit. It was like coming home…comfortable, easy and complex all at the same time! Since graduating in 2001 from the 4-year program at the Vancouver Homeopathic Academy, I have invested yearly by studying with the leading international homeopaths that are deepening and refining the system of homeopathic healing through what is known as the Sensation Method. I have been in seminar with Dr. Rajan Sankaran, Dr. Divya Chaabra, and Dr. Jayesh Shah. Most recently I have had the great honor of co-coordinating with the Vancouver Homeopathic Academy, a series of ten seminars with Dr. Sunil Anand teaching the Sensation Method to post graduate students. In September 2008, the Council for Homeopathic Certification certified me as a homeopath trained in the classical tradition and philosophy. I am a member of the Canadian Society of Homeopaths and the North American Society of Homeopaths (NASH). During my years as a student, I enjoyed being a regular contributor to the NASH newsletter for homeopathic professionals. Writing is an important part of my work as a homeopath and I have been a contributor to the West Coast Homeopathic Society, the Canadian Society of Homeopaths and have had work published in the National Centre for Homeopathy’s magazine Homeopathy Today, a lay person’s guide to healing through homeopathy.
