Dr. Boyd Haley received a B.S. in Chemistry/Physics from Franklin College in 1963. He served as a medic in the U.S. army from 1964 to 1966 while attaining a M.S. in chemistry at the University of Idaho, and later a Ph.D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry at Washington State University. In addition, Dr. Haley served as a NIH Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Physiology, Yale University Medical School from 1971 to 1974. After Dr. Haley received his doctorate, he had his first academic appointment at the University of Wyoming, where he was promoted to a full professor in 1983. Dr. Haley continued to climb the social ladder in 1985, when he was appointed as the first scientist as professor in the College of Pharmacy and in the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Kentucky Medical Center. By 1996, he was appointed as Chair and Professor of Chemistry/Biochemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Kentucky. He continues to serve as a renowned lecturer throughout the country.
